Position Description:
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team. As an intern, you will provide vital support to our nonprofit organization's day-to-day operations. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain practical experience in a nonprofit setting while contributing to our mission of promoting the understanding of free market economics to students, teachers, and the general public through partnerships between the business and education communities.
Responsibilities:
· Assist with general office duties, including answering phone calls, responding to emails, and managing correspondence
· Maintain and organize files, documents, and records
· Help with data entry and database management
· Assist in scheduling and coordinating meetings, events, and appointments
· Support the team in preparing materials for programs and meetings
· Conduct research for grants and work with team on grant writing
· Collaborate with staff members on various projects and initiatives
· Perform other administrative tasks as assigned
· Assist the Programs Manager in planning and marketing the fundraising efforts of the organization
· Record donations and prepare thank you letters
· Maintain office equipment in working order and supplies inventory
Qualifications:
· Currently enrolled in a college or university program, preferably in a relevant field such as business administration, nonprofit management, communication, education, marketing, or a related field
· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
· Strong written and verbal communication skills
· Proficiency in using computer applications, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), google docs/sheets, and email
· Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
· Proactive and self-motivated with a strong work ethic
· Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
· Knowledge of and interest in nonprofit organizations and their operations is a plus
· School clearances necessary
Internship Details:
Start date: Fall 2023 Semester
Duration: TBD
Hours: 15 – 20 hours/week
Location: ACES office is located at 2222 Filmore Ave. Suite 600 Erie, PA 16506, however intern will have the opportunity to join ACES staff at high schools during program weeks. Locations could include: Girard High School, Greenville High School, Fort LeBoeuf High School, New Castle High School, or Hickory High School.
This internship pays up to $15/hour

About Americans for the Competitive Enterprise System, Inc. (ACES):
Americans for the Competitive Enterprise System, Inc. of Western PA (ACES) is a nonprofit, non-political educational organization promoting the understanding of free market economics to students, teachers, and the general public through partnerships between the business and education communities.
Pennsylvania Business Week is a one-week in-school program with a rigorous curriculum that teaches students about the American economic system. High school students are divided into management teams that run their own companies through a computer simulation. The students run the companies for 12 business quarters by making all managerial decisions dealing with pricing their products, investing, marketing, production, research and development, and human resources. The week culminates in five competitions - Advertising, Stockholders Presentation, Trade Show, Return on Net Assets, and the Top Company.
