Volunteers are critical to the mission and success of Second Harvest Food Bank. Our volunteers help in a variety of ways, these include: sorting and packing food, gleaning, office work, and special events.
There are multiple shifts available on weekdays and Saturdays. Our regular shifts are 2.5 hours long and we ask that volunteers commit to a minimum of 1.5 hours per visit.
The recommended age for our volunteer shifts is 13 years of age and older. Although children as young as 10 may volunteer, please use your discretion when scheduling children under 13. When scheduling shifts, please keep in mind that all children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult over the age of 18. The adult chaperone must register for the volunteer shift as well. If adult is not a parent or legal guardian, we require a copy of ACT 153 clearances. Please wear comfortable and safe footwear. No open-toed shoes are permitted in the warehouse.
